A Quick Update (May 2024)

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well, taking care of themselves and trying their best to make it through this rather hectic world.

We just wanted to pop in and share a quick update. Jess and I have been overwhelmed with the support, kindness, and enthusiasm you've had for the lab. We couldn't be happier with the reception that the lab got! So, from the bottom of our hearts...thank you, truly.

After our info session, Jess and I sat down and came up with a plan to address the questions and future directions of the lab. To put it mildly...we've got some work to do. Between establishing some ethical guidelines beyond the scope of the board, establishing the lab as a formal entity, and getting research groups working, it's quite an undertaking. And we want to do this RIGHT. Sometimes, doing the right thing means we have to do the patient thing.

At this time, our big goals are to ensure that we are establishing the lab as a formal entity and to get started on some non-experimental projects. We think these are quick wins for the lab to help get things rolling. Blogs are part of that. Grants are part of that. We've got some things to do. Unfortunately, this also means we have to put a brief freeze on accepting new folks into the lab. This is only temporary, so don't worry. We still encourage folks to put in to join. We want you here! We just have to get our feet in order before we keep skating on this ice.

In the meantime, expect more regular updates from our group, including blogs, resources, and all the other great things that are about to come out of it.
